My name’s Katie. And I’m Paula. We decided to build an ADU because our current home didn’t have a downstairs bedroom or bathroom, and we wanted to create a comfortable, private space. After selling our homes, the goal became clear—to build a suite where we could live close together while still having independence.

We actually discovered Backyard Estates in a pretty unexpected way. Dusty came into my husband’s work, and we noticed his shirt. That led us to visit an open house—and we instantly fell in love with the quality of the work.

From the very first meeting with Adam and Tom, everything felt easy. They were so easygoing… they made us feel really welcomed. They pulled up our house on the big screen and walked us through every step of the process. There was no pressure—just honest guidance.

What really stood out was how well they listened. They helped us utilize the space in a really good way. They took our ideas and turned them into a layout that fit perfectly with our home. The result? A beautiful design with an amazing mountain view, a charming kitchen, and a layout that just feels right.

Construction was smooth and moved quickly. Once it started, every day someone was doing their part, and we received weekly updates through the app. If we ever had questions, someone was always available. It created a worry-free environment.

The finished result has exceeded expectations. Everyone who visits is amazed at how well it blends with the main house. But more importantly, it’s changed how we live.
